Service Areas in Mission, TX

La Lomita Chapel and the open plaza in Mission, Texas

Our service area follows the road. Interstate 2 and US 83 form one long corridor across Hidalgo County, beginning at Showers Road in Palmview and passing Mission, McAllen, Pharr, San Juan, Alamo, Donna and Weslaco. Roof inspections are routed along that corridor, and the dated sheet for a building in one city reads the same as the sheet for a building in the next.

More About Service Areas

Mission and the Core Cities

Work around Mission covers the freeway frontage buildings south of the town center and the retail and manufacturing growth Mission EDC describes. McAllen adds the Foreign-Trade Zone warehouses, and Pharr brings the city that operates the bridge to Reynosa into the route. Edinburg as the county seat and home to the main University of Texas Rio Grande Valley campus, adds institutional roofs to the northern end of the route.

On each of those visits the first thing recorded is the roof's access: where the hatch or ladder is, who holds the key, and where a crew can stage material without blocking a customer entrance or a loading dock. That detail is easy to settle once and saves a second trip.

West of Mission

Palmview sits at the western start of I-2 and has seen new schools and commercial construction. Farther out, La Joya and Sullivan City sit in the area where parts saw 18 inches to 4 feet of water from poor drainage during Hurricane Hanna, so drainage logs matter on the roofs there.

Palmhurst borders Mission to the north, and Palmview borders it on the west, so one route can pick up buildings in several of these neighboring places in a morning. Alton and West Sharyland, which share boundaries with Palmhurst, are handled the same way.

East Toward Weslaco

Past McAllen, Alamo, Donna and Weslaco share the I-2 corridor. In 2008, Dolly peeled roofs off mostly older structures near Weslaco, and the sheets for older buildings in those cities begin with fastener and edge metal findings.

River Towns and Smaller Communities

Smaller places such as Granjeno and Los Ebanos are served through the nearby corridor work. Their buildings are fewer, but the same record format applies. Where a place is not listed, call with the address and we will confirm routing.

Commercial Roofing Questions

How do you decide the order of visits along I-2?

We group roofs by corridor segment and by the urgency recorded on the condition sheet. A leak with active water entry moves ahead of a routine walk, and scheduled inspections fill the stretch of the route between emergencies.

Do smaller towns receive the same inspection format?

Yes. The sheet format does not change with the size of the town. Each section is numbered, photographed and tagged, and the written summary carries the same scope line.

Which areas should log drainage most carefully?

The Mission, La Joya and Sullivan City area had flooding from poor drainage during Hanna, with 18 inches to 4 feet of water reported in places. Roofs there should have drains and scuppers logged before every June.

Can one visit cover buildings in neighboring cities?

Often. When two or three buildings sit within a short drive on the same corridor, a single day can handle the inspections and the sheets go into one owner's file.
